Over recent years we have had many email correspondences from pool players who require further information regarding the best chalk for use on out billiard tip products. This is due to the many variations of billiard chalk that have been introduced to the market in recent years.
As a collective response we have decided to state our position on the use of billiard chalk and the chemistry that exists between the user and product. Only with this information do we set a suggested recommendation only on the type of billiard chalk that offers durability, quality, consistency and economic affordability to most importantly, you; the consumer.
With over 360 years of cue-sport experienced between our dedicated staff, Black Heart Premium Billiard Tips have a long, non-affiliated use of all Tweeten Fibre Co., Inc. chalk products. During this time we have witnessed countless numbers of World Champions from disciplines which include Snooker, American Pool, 3 Cushion, Black Ball winning their titles using either Tweetens own Master Chalk or Triangle Chalk.
The reason are simple and not scientific. Tweeted chalk is consistent when applied to to all Black Heart Premium Billiard products, whilst at the same time leaving as little dust residue on the cue ball or any other abject ball on the table. This is also true of the billiard cloth itself; as with it’s powdered like texture, Tweeten Chalk easily brushes away the billiard cloth using a billiard table brush.
KICKS. This is a term used by billiard, Snooker and American Pool professional for when the cue ball is diverted off line of its intending path, This is predominately cause by dust and debris, which is usually from the chalk itself. The more debris or residue left on the cue ball the more likely that a KICK will occur when attempting to make a shot between cue ball and objective ball.
Some of the new branded chalks we have seen and tested, favour a more paste like compound which we find that not only leave our billiard tip products clogged up with sticky paste but also leaving paste on the cue ball, objective balls and billiard table cloth. This is how our product are not to be used…
Having spent over 7 years in R&D, (Research and Development) Black Heart Premium Billiard Tips are designed to react to its environment. I-HDS (Integrated Humidity Defence System) is a system that allows air-flow into the fibres of the billiard tip. Should this air-flow become clogged up then the intended engineered principles of I-HDS are breached, meaning that the product will not function as effectively.
Also, to our amazement we discovered that some of these new type chalk compounds are extremely expensive to develop and the consumer is asked to foot the bill. At BHT, all our products are consistently priced to our cost of manufacturing and labour and will never seek to place any of our R&D, engineering or innovative principles with unreasonable costs. That said, we do not object to the user enhancement or improvements within the billiard world. On the contrary, we endorse any product that improves the playing experiences for the players at both amateur and professional levels.
So to conclude; Not only Tweeten Fibre Co., Inc. our recommended choice of chalk, their products have a proven track record with 1000’s of professional champions worldwide and can be found in most reputable Snooker Clubs and Pool Halls throughout the world; many of which are complementary to the end user..!
