FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions and answers regarding our new CLASS SERIES Tips and how they differ to our ORIGINAL premium Billiard Tips
Q; Why is soft better? And if fewer layers are better, why have any?
A; Soft is not better, however many billiard players specify the need for a great soft tip – this has become a trend…
We also have a new hard tip – in fact our HAMOUR ‘HARD’ Tip is extremely popular with many top pros using it.
Layers – unfortunately it is close to impossible to stopthe ‘mushroom’ effect of a non layered tip and the durability of a non-layered tip is low. An Elkmaster is a great example – feels great and plays great but only for a very short period of time.
Q; What is “cushioned transfer” and why is it preferred?
A; Cushioned transference – this is paramount to every hit of the cue-ball and the consistency of the hit. This is one of our main goals when producing billiard tips. The kinetic drive from the but end of the cue produces a high end level of energy throughout the length of the cue – climaxing with the transfered energy through the billiard tip. Again this is why a single layered tip has less durability becuase it can’t cope with the transmitance of of this high end energy and has very little CUSHIONED TRANSFERENCE.
Q; What is the difference between natural and colored response?
A; Think of a cake – when making a sponge cake it is light and fluffy. Make another cake and add currents the sponge is less spongy and more condensed. This is what happens (albeit vey little) to a billiard tip when tampering with its colour. We are more than happy with the overall play of all our billiard tip products but a search for billiard tip excellence and as close to perfect as possible – we must eliminate any potential of deducting playability and consistency to the tip, hense why our V Class is of natural colour.
Q; What does “playable” mean and to the contrary, what are “unplayable” characteristics?
A; This will depend on the end users and their ability to play high end biliards. As a Pool player I have played at the highest level on the Euro Tour and consider my ability to be of a pro level standard. So my expectations as a Product Developer are very high.
– Have you ever listened to your cue? Each cue will make its own sound and is a direct result of how it was manufactured. The manufacturing processes of any product is paramount to how the product is received and used by the end user.
– The exposed surface area of the tip whether it is domed or not is the playable surface area – adhesice used to laminate can not deter to the overall standard of the playable area.
